Best app for downloaded comics






















The app has a vast selection of DC Comics, including every hero you probably know about. The app seems to cost the same as Comixology as well so there is that. Google Play Books is an excellent source for books, comics, and manga. Google has also integrated features to make reading comics a little more fun as well. Their selections are top-notch. You can find most of the classics, new comics, and a variety of manga. Plus, your purchases save to your Google account.

That makes it easy to sync it onto multiple devices. It has the same perks as the Amazon app. Hoopla Digital is a neat little app. It integrates directly with a bunch of libraries. You use your library card to check out and consume content. It has movies, TV shows, music, ebooks, and comic books. In fact, the app has reader features specifically for comic books if you want. However, your local library has to be a part of the Hoopla network for it to work for you.

It boasts a collection of over 20, comics. You then have access to all of them. The app lets you download up to 12 issues offline at a time. That should last for most airplane flights. You do have a library, but it easily becomes overwhelmed if you happen to have a lot of comics in your collection.

Fortunately, ComicRack does have some advantages that make it a worthy choice for the right sort of person. It's one of the only comic readers available that allows you to read more than one comic at a time, with each in its own tab. So if you want to compare two editions for some reason, ComicRack makes it much easier.

You can edit each comics' meta info while you're reading it, so it's possible to micromanage your entire collection. There's also a magnifier in case you want to see the details of the artwork up close. The last useful tidbit is that ComicRack is compatible with tablet controls. So you can drag up and down to read the comic if you use a touchscreen.

You can even use it to organize your comic collection on Android as well. Download: ComicRack Free. MComix is another great comic reader for Windows 10 but loses out on both features and usability when compared with some of the other entries on this list. You can still make a library and read comics in many different formats, but the app feels unintuitive to use. The library isn't integrated into the app, but it opens in a separate window, and although you can read image files, you can't add them to your library for some reason.

If you only have a few comics, then MComix will fulfill your needs perfectly, as opening individual files and reading them is a pretty simple experience. It's even pretty easy to read an entire series, as when you open a single file, it automatically loads the next file in the folder when you're done reading.

If MComix has one advantage it's that the app is completely portable, so you don't even need to install it. You can just put it onto a memory stick or SD card and carry it around with you if you use a lot of random computers and want to always have access to your comic library.

Download: MComix Free. The final entry on our list is MangaMeeya, a freeware application that is designed for reading Japanese comics known as manga. Despite being designed for a right-to-left reading system, MangaMeeya is perfect for reading comics. Much like MComix, MangaMeeya is portable and freeware, so you can take it with you anywhere. Slightly cheaper than Marvel Unlimited, it actually also provides a more diverse offering than just comics. The Amazon-owned ComiXology is a great choice if you want to read beyond the confines of the Marvel and DC universes, featuring manga, independent publishers and graphic novels from all sorts of creators. Comics can be bought on a per-issue basis, or you can subscribe to individual titles. Sadly, that feature is not available globally.

It feels like the work of a super-villain that this one is being offered up for free, so take advantage.
