Transmission-gtk download completed script file name

Transmission is designed for easy, powerful use. We've set the defaults to Just Work and it only takes a few clicks to configure advanced features like watch directories, bad peer blocklists, and the web interface. When Ubuntu chose Transmission as its default BitTorrent client, one of the most-cited reasons was its easy learning curve. Because this how-to is designed for Ubuntu server we need to manually allow remote access. Installation Transmission is typically installed by default in Ubuntu.

If not, install the transmission package from the Universe repository. Looks to me that's not the case. Must we use an external program for that? Do you use the 'actions' preferences? The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:. All this application does is connect to the transmission daemon and afaik it does not expose any method of transfering the downloaded content.

You would have to have some other service such as an http or ftp server. Sorry, something went wrong. Thanks for the answer. So, IMO it would be a great addition at least an easy way to link to an external app. I edited the title to stress it is a feature request :. I probably wouldn't hold my breath and you would be best off setting up your own solution. Although transmission-remote-gtk's purpose is only to control the daemon, it would be pretty useful to have a feature like this.

I have no idea, but wouldn't mind learning a thing or 2 and writing it myself or adjusting an existing script. When transmission finishes a torrent it passes the following environmental variables to the done script. With those vars you can do whatever you want either by bash shell, php, or using the transmission api using transmission-remote binary.

You can get the id by executing transmission-remote localhost -n admin:password -l Example this is dirty, i'll move the file when is finished an i'll probably report an error in the webUI that data went missing. Obviously I have write permissions in all folders that I need, including the one in which I should download.

Help me, I will not use any other torrent client! Transmission-gtk has two modes. Standard mode that downloads independently of daemon and mode in which it serves as gui for daemon which does all the downloading. I never liked the way it handles daemonised torrenting used rtorrent and deluge before , so decided to try some other front-end for transmission-cli. I have cofigured daemon as described on wiki systemd with my user and I'm connecting to it using transmission-remote-gtk from aur.

Everything works perfectly this way.
